Who We Are

Hope Baptist Church is a member of the Baptist Union of Wales.  We are a small fellowship of 50-70 people that meet in the south of Llanelli, serving the areas of Morfa and New Dock. 
Like many Baptist Churches, we are a self governing evangelical Church.  A good statement of what we believe is described in the Declaration of Faith.

For many years, the distinct fellowships of Emmanuel Baptist Church and Bethania Baptist Church worked together.  In 2007, we appointed a single minister over both Churches and from then started to worship together.  So much so that in 2016 we decided the time had come to become one fellowship.  Of course we needed a new name and the name "Hope" (Welsh: Gobaith) was chosen by the Church members.  The Church is multilingual in nature with both English, Welsh, Korean and others spoken by many.

As a Welsh Church, in the heart of a local Welsh community, it will not surprise you to find out that we are a very welcoming Church that wants to get to know you and welcome you as a friend.
